They had a design and marketing team in the US and an outsourced manufacturing set-up in India via a network of suppliers. They were experiencing:\n<ul>\n<li>Frequent and often exorbitant delays which led to stock outs and inventory planning issues<\/li>\n<li>Logistics costs continued to grow exponentially higher even at higher volumes<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/p><\/div><\/section><section class=\"aux-toggle-item\"><h4 id=\"aux-toggle-header-1042\" class=\"aux-toggle-header toggle-header\" tabindex=\"1042\" role=\"tab\" aria-controls=\"aux-toggle-content-1042\" >Solution<\/h4><div id=\"aux-toggle-content-1042\" class=\"aux-toggle-content toggle-content\" tabindex=\"1042\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"aux-toggle-header-1042\" ><p>After conducting an initial assessment of the supply base, it was clear to us that the problems faced by the client were mostly down to not having a sourcing strategy. In addition, there was a need for demand forecasting &amp; inventory management<\/p><\/div><\/section><section class=\"aux-toggle-item\"><h4 id=\"aux-toggle-header-1043\" class=\"aux-toggle-header toggle-header\" tabindex=\"1043\" role=\"tab\" aria-controls=\"aux-toggle-content-1043\" >Process<\/h4><div id=\"aux-toggle-content-1043\" class=\"aux-toggle-content toggle-content\" tabindex=\"1043\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"aux-toggle-header-1043\" ><p><b>Sourcing Strategy: <\/b>Re-organized and allocated SKUs to manufacturers based on demand &amp; complexity VS capability &amp; capacity\n<b>Inventory Planning:<\/b> Instituted regular reporting of production &amp; order fulfilment data.
